The Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure (EMI) team in San Diego, CA is looking for great talent, especially people who enjoy solving difficult problems in a creative way. EMI applies engineering mechanics, materials science, numerical simulation, innovative technologies, and collective expertise to solve our clients’ toughest problems in an inspiring work environment that nurtures life-long learning and growth. A successful candidate for EMI may work on design, analysis, licensing/regulatory, and research projects related to buildings, bridges, pipelines, nuclear facilities, tanks, rail vehicles, rotating equipment, precision observatory structures, and other non-building critical infrastructure systems. In this role, you will work alongside the Principal in EMI San Diego, to manage the delivery of projects including complex finite element analysis, structural dynamics, seismic design for extreme earthquake events, design of rotating and vibrating equipment supports, pressure vessels, liquid storage tanks, vibration mitigation, impact/blast, aircraft impact assessment, anchorage to concrete, and equipment seismic testing and certification/qualification. Partnering with a diverse range of owners, agencies, utilities, and research organizations, you will bring broad perspective and creative solutions.
