About The Position

HEAPY is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Healthcare Practice in our Cincinnati, OH office. This role is responsible for the full life cycle of MEP focused design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, and sustainability initiatives. The Senior Project Manager ensures a Superior Client Experience, high colleague engagement, and achievement of Financial Sustainability targets. This includes client communication, understanding project scope, establishing guiding principles, managing schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, resource planning, and risk management. This position typically manages medium to large-sized Healthcare industry projects with fees up to $500,000, often involving multiple Practices or Service Sectors. There is an increased focus on client management and business development, as well as serving as a Mechanical leader, contributing to engineering calculations and designs.

Requirements

  • Normally requires a 4-year degree in engineering and typically 10 - 15 years of experience in MEP focused design and project management or equivalent working knowledge/experience.
  • Professional registration is preferred.
  • Prior job assignments typically include project engineering and project management responsibilities, preferably for education clients.
  • Located in the Indianapolis, IN metro area or be willing to travel to project sites in and around the region.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clear knowledge of HEAPY Corporate Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrate awareness of how those objectives relate to all position responsibilities.
  • Continually advance technical education and personal development aligned with OKRI goals.
  • Guide HEAPY service delivery consistent with the appropriate service operating procedures and the identified milestones.
  • Participate in project costing and bid preparation to the extent required.
  • Review assigned project(s) after award to HEAPY to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, and develop schedules, budgets, resource planning, client communication plan, and progress billing points.
  • Establish Client – HEAPY – Architect - Construction Manager liaison network to keep all interested parties informed of project communication, planning, schedule, and work progress.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Director, Operations Manager, and Practice Technical Leader to form a project work team and ensure responsibilities are assigned, and execution of tasks are initiated and completed according to schedule.
  • Submit documents to federal, state, and local authorities for code compliance review and obtain the various permits required.
  • Hold regularly scheduled project progress review meetings to ensure that contract terms, conditions, and specifications are being met, personnel adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies, delays and cost overruns are minimized, and resource requirements, equipment, materials, and quality problems are recognized for timely intervention and resolution.
  • Represent the HEAPY culture, maintain colleague morale and interact appropriately with client counterparts.
  • Ensure information for progress billing purposes is submitted correctly and on time.
  • Meet with client management as necessary during a project’s terms to resolve issues and upon project completion to obtain final client approvals.
  • Participate actively in the client feedback process and maintain a leadership role in understanding client comments, positively engaging with the client when opportunities to improve performance are identified.
  • Maintain a continuing business relationship with assigned clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.
  • Report client management activities and opportunities using CRM system.
  • Engage directly in design and maintain design oversight and leadership relating to discipline/expertise for projects managed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
