About The Position

Service New Brunswick’s Technology Services Division is seeking an individual to join the Program Management Office for 12 months as a Senior Project Manager. Requirements

  • University degree in related discipline with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in project management or related work experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required for one position; Written and spoken competence in English is required for the other position. Please state your language capability.
  • Candidates must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
  • Knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft office technology

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a recognized Project Management Association, such as PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or PRINCE2’s Practitioner.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (such as Scrumworks, Jira, TFS, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience managing IT projects across multiple organizations or functional areas with both traditional and adaptive approaches in a high-pressure environment.
  • Certification or experience in Change Management.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience leading programs and projects in a government setting.
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating varying group sizes and senior level management.

Responsibilities

  • Defining scope, outcomes & measures, work packages, requirements, and deliverables at project and program levels.
  • Developing resource management plans, identifying and acquiring required resources, delegating tasks and responsibilities and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors.
  • Directing and managing projects and programs to deliver desired outcomes and benefits.
  • Developing full-scale program roadmaps, project plans, value maps and effectively communicating project expectations.
  • Liaising with project stakeholders, including senior leadership, to understand, set and manage expectations.
  • Developing and growing business relationships vital to the success of projects.
  • Drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising team members and contractors
  • Leading teams in the use of SCRUM/Agile methodologies
  • Tracking project timelines, outcomes, milestones, and deliverables
  • Delivering status reports, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas.
  • Managing changes in scope, budget, schedule, identifying potential risks and devising contingency plans.
  • Fostering the professional growth of colleagues through mentoring and coaching.
  • Monitoring and managing risks, issues and interdependencies between projects in a program
