About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Project Manager to join our Business Development team, helping to drive our expansion on EXP recruiting and onboarding, practice acquisition, succession, and M&A. This role is critical in driving our most important strategic initiatives from concept to execution. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and excels at cross-functional collaboration. This position offers a flexible work schedule: it may be fully remote/hybrid. If you are located near one of our offices (e.g., Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Syracuse, NY), a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days on-site per week is expected to foster collaboration and connection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7 to 10+ years of project or program management experience, ideally in the business development or corporate strategy space.
  • Ability to drive and execute high-level initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-departmental projects with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Extensive experience working with large companies on strategic projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Agile Project Management: Knowledge of effective agile project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Knowledge of collaborative techniques and approaches; ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement and working together across functions to solve business problems and meet business goals.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
  • Experience in high-growth or transformation environments.
  • Background in consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or strategic planning is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: Take ownership of high-impact business development projects, leading them from ideation through to implementation and delivery.
  • Project Execution: Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and success metrics to ensure on-time and on-budget execution of initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the organization—such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, and Legal—to align efforts, uncover dependencies, and ensure unified execution.
  • Program Design & Overview: Build comprehensive project and program overviews, including business cases, implementation roadmaps, resource plans, and risk assessments.
  • Leadership & Influence: Act as a central driver of progress, removing roadblocks, managing stakeholders, and maintaining accountability without direct authority.
  • Executive Communication: Prepare and present concise updates, strategic briefings, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze past project performance and identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, scalability, and execution quality.
