Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or related field
  • 10 years of experience as Project Manager, Project Engineer, or any occupation in which the required experience was gained
  • Demonstrated experience in proficiency in construction project accounting software (Procore or CMiC)
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding of design and build practices
  • Demonstrated experience in performing a thorough review of design documents (at every design phase) and provide feedback on constructability and/or design gaps
  • Demonstrated experience in providing cost value engineering options and feedback
  • Ability to plan and execute on complex projects including multiple phases, urban or high-risk environments
  • Commercial construction with construction values of $50+ million or completed multiple concurrent projects
  • Completed multiple successful projects as Project Leader in charge of the outcome including overall direction, financial completion, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships
  • Understanding of successful pre-project planning effects on the delivery of a project
  • Oversight and development of a project team
  • Drafting and updating financial plans
  • Drafting and updating commercial construction project schedules utilizing industry standard scheduling software (Synchro, P6, Microsoft Project)
  • Tracking and forecasting project costs to ensure profitability

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a project, overseeing all project financials, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships and needs
  • Complete oversight of on-site construction including supervising and directing a team of project engineers, APMs, superintendents, field engineers, safety supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Lead Beck's interface with the client by establishing or maintaining trust and exceeding their expectations at every stage of the project
  • Participate heavily in the preconstruction efforts including assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, detailed analysis of bids, buy-out, and contract administration
  • Manage or oversee the review of proposed changes from Owner or Architect as well as the development of Change Orders by soliciting and thoroughly analyzing subcontractor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness
  • Oversee the project schedule, primarily managed by on-site superintendents, to ensure project remains on schedule and schedule complies with Beck's scheduling policy
  • Identify and lead cost savings efforts through value engineering
  • Develop and maintain accurate general conditions and general requirements budgets
  • Constant negotiation of disputes and resolution of disagreements with Owner, Architect, and subcontractors
  • Ensure that construction, subcontracts, and purchase orders are in accordance with the Contract Documents
  • Understand what constitutes a breach of contract and subcontract and the steps involved to enforce
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships to win $25M or more in work annually
