About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to support our SJE Revere brand. This is an onsite role and will work from our Birmingham, Alabama office location. Our Revere brand is a leading provider of automation and control solutions for the industrial, water and wastewater treatment, power and energy, manufacturing, food and beverage, oil and gas, and pulp and paper industries. We design, build, and implement customized automation and control systems for highly complex projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent related Project Management experience
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of engineering, construction, design, finance and management required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in project engineering or project management
  • Five (5) years progressive lead and/or supervisory experience within your Industry's environment through the knowledge of the methods, techniques, principles, and practices of your Industry's control systems
  • Ability to monitor work performance and task implementation of resources assigned to projects
  • Ability to oversee all aspects of projects by planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects to quality standards
  • Ability to manage customer expectations and relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Engineering experience desirable
  • Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public

Nice To Haves

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all aspects of projects by planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects to quality standards, within customer expectations and Company objectives.
  • Management of projects, for your assigned division, providing project deliverables to customers on schedule and within budget requirements.
  • Serving as the primary customer interface for coordination and enhancement of client relations.
  • Supporting and leading projects for your division's clients in the assigned work area, which includes planning, designing, and preparing project plans related to your specific industry.
  • Assisting with reviewing Contract Scope of Work, Terms and Conditions prior to execution of contract documents and project implementation.
  • Managing the customer expectations and relationships.
  • Responsible for the safe delivery of project deliverables to meet customer and budget requirements, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Contract administration, including invoicing, cost forecasting, cashflow, schedule management, quality assurance documentation.
  • Planning and scheduling work activities with Revere personnel and customer contacts.
  • Identifying and managing areas of risk and change management.
  • Reporting on project performance, areas of concern, risks, contractual issues to division and corporate management.
  • Delivering engineering, project coordination, writing engineering specifications, establishing appropriate design methods, report preparation and coordination, equipment sizing and selection, and working directly with customers.
  • Driving profitability of projects and satisfaction of customers through quality work and on-time / on-budget delivery.
  • Developing and managing plans for response to emergencies such as control system failures and natural disasters.
  • Evaluating employee performance, capitalizing on talents to effectively meet business objectives; Ensures that business initiatives and progress toward goals are effectively communicated to employees.
  • Developing and managing overall project schedule.
  • Controlling and maintaining the project budget.
  • Developing schedule of values and project plans.
  • Scheduling coordination for project tasks and resources with Engineering Group Managers and other Project Managers to ensure a team environment.
  • Ensuring safety measures and procedures during the execution of the project.
  • Managing overall change management processes including change order estimates, proposals and negotiations with the customer.
  • Communicating plan and related project status reports to key stakeholders and management as well as risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Identifying and coordinating responsibilities to project team members and monitoring progress of work activities including hours, costs and deliverables.
  • Minimizing project rework and promoting greater project success.
  • Monitoring and summarizing progress of the projects to customers and to company management.
  • Updating project forecasts monthly.
  • Ensuring timely invoicing and collection of receivables.
  • Providing input for performance evaluation of engineering resources for related project activities.
  • Mentoring the engineering team members.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and referring to sales department.
  • Assisting the sales departments in the quotation process.
  • Assisting with creating and negotiating maintenance contracts.
  • Helping maintain good relationships with customers, consultant engineers, vendors, and employees.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
