About The Position

Arcadis is searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our Resilience Water Team in Charleston, South Carolina! This role is critical to successful delivery of our water, wastewater, stormwater, and coastal resilience programs in the Southeast. The position will provide technical leadership, project management, and client interface support across an interdisciplinary project team, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication, and growth‑oriented delivery. As a Senior Project Manager, you will work with multiple engineering disciplines on water, wastewater, stormwater, municipal, federal, riverine, and coastal-related projects. You will manage the full spectrum of the project lifecycle (conceptual-level planning, permitting, detailed design development, and construction support) and participate in business development activities. Example projects include stormwater management, wastewater collections, distribution system improvements, inflow and infiltration, asset management, coastal flood protection, and more.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 12 years of relevant engineering project management experience.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 years of experience in project management involving design and construction engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience, having served as a Task Manager, Design Lead, or Technical Lead on projects of varying sizes.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in coastal resilience, federal contracting, construction inspection and management, as well as asset management and condition assessment.
  • Process mechanical design experience.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations.
  • PMP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage each phase of assigned projects including contracting, planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, supervising design, reporting progress, supporting procurement of construction services, and administering construction activities.
  • Perform a critical role in keeping projects on task, on time and on budget.
  • Evaluate plans and technical design for completeness and constructability.
  • Support permitting and other professional engineering services during construction, which may include construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to requests for information (RFIs), and permit closeouts.
  • Oversee the development of design calculations, technical report sections, technical design drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater/stormwater systems for clients.
  • Develop cost estimates and project schedules, completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineering and design/drafting staff.
  • Leverage work experience and client relationships to win new projects, in collaboration with Principal-level staff.
  • Prepare and present project-related information to clients for weekly and monthly progress meetings.
  • Travel for project site visits, client meetings, or other project-related activities.
