About The Position

Taylor Design, a 100% employee-owned company voted Best Architectural Firm To Work For since 2018, is seeking a Senior Healthcare Project Manager for its San Diego office. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a team of dedicated architects and designers on award-winning projects. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful completion of projects, overseeing all phases from conceptual design to construction document delivery. This includes managing project teams, delegating tasks, and ensuring quality completion. The role typically involves leading larger or multiple complex projects and serving as the main point of contact for clients, subconsultants, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of roles, responsibilities, and expectations. The Project Manager must be capable and experienced, authorized to communicate with clients on behalf of the firm and to direct and execute work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent education in an AEC related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a professional office setting.
  • Demonstrated history of success in leading a team and managing one or more projects, including the ability to monitor, adjust, and maintain scope, schedule, and budgets.
  • Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills, including the ability to recognize and successfully navigate client and agency challenges.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Deltek, BST, or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or knowledge of Health Care and or Science/Technology a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the work of project team members, including mentoring, coaching, and goal setting.
  • Establish a balanced approach for project profitability, technical deliverables, and design goals using firm-wide tools and processes.
  • Provide project-level leadership, interacting with clients, staff, and consultants.
  • Develop project budgets and timelines, manage proposals and contracts, monitor financial progress, and perform monthly client billing and revenue projections.
  • Understand building systems and potential code/agency issues.
  • Participate in firm-wide resource allocation planning and forecasting.
  • Support marketing activities, including writing proposals and preparing for interviews.
  • Ensure project quality control and adherence to firm-wide standards.
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors, subconsultants, and other disciplines to resolve project issues.
  • Participate in business development by nurturing client relationships.
  • Engage in professional development activities, learning, and training programs.
