The Senior Project Manager, Occupational Health and Safety, leads strategic planning, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of the City’s corporate occupational health and safety programs to facilitate risk mitigation and enable compliance across the organization. This includes overseeing the development of policy, procedures, guidelines, tools, resources and training that facilitate and enable departments to appropriately implement occupational health and safety programs. Reporting to the Manager of Health, Safety and Wellness, the incumbent works collaboratively with leaders, employees, Joint Health and Safety Committees, union representatives and other stakeholders to ensure programs are compliant, enable implementation and drive continuous health and safety performance improvement. Utilizes expert risk mitigation strategies and provides technical guidance, education and training on a variety of health and safety hazards, risks and issues. The incumbent designs processes and finds new approaches to facilitate program compliance and adoption. Enables continuous improvement, including through the use of technology. Leads occupational health and safety projects and compliance initiatives utilizing a project management and change management methodology delivering results for the organization and City team.
