About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Project Manager I and II to join their Power Delivery Services Group. This role requires experience in power, renewable energy, and storage, with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible, resourceful, proactive, efficient, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Key skills include anticipating problems, critical issue identification, creative problem-solving, and strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects, manage quality, timeliness, and safety, mentor the project team, and develop customer relationships through excellent service. This position is open for both Level I and Level II, with compensation based on experience and location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Current driver’s license
  • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
  • Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
  • Minimum 8 years of construction management or related experience (for Senior Project Manager I)
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management or related experience (for Senior Project Manager II)
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following: commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall financial health of projects
  • Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules
  • Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
  • Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices
  • Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings
  • Manage subcontracts and supplies, oversee budget and selections of trade partners
  • Handle billings, contract managements, and change orders
  • Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback
