About The Position

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their Gas Development organization. This role will support the expanding portfolio within PMC's Gas Development, focusing on the development of natural gas combined-cycle and simple-cycle facilities, LNG storage evaluation, and modifications to existing facilities. The position is responsible for managing all phases of project planning and execution, including permitting, regulatory approvals, scope and pricing, stakeholder engagement, equipment selection, and transitioning projects into execution. The Senior Project Manager will manage a portfolio of projects with moderate to high risk, utilizing complex but mature technology. They will be accountable to various stakeholders, including senior management and potentially the Board of Directors and External Agencies. This leadership position requires strong project management skills and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 plus years related work experience
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) and 7 plus year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED and 11 plus year(s) related work experience
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Create/Staff/Lead Project Team, providing leadership, oversight, direction, management, delegation, and coordination with internal and external organizations.
  • Establish and maintain communication among all project stakeholders, structuring and leading project-related meetings, and preparing/communicating monthly project status reports.
  • Plan assigned projects, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects, championing project planning processes such as scope definition, estimating, schedule formation, cost control, procurement strategies, and start-up plans.
  • Execute projects according to plans within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints, ensuring all project elements like objectives, roles, deliverables, WBS, budget, and various plans (risk, quality, safety, etc.) are managed.
  • Provide effective leadership, development, and mentoring to other career path members, sharing tools, learnings, and expertise.
  • Deliver effective presentations, including creating, developing, and delivering project/business case presentations to Senior Management/project sponsors.
