We are looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead construction management, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and overall project delivery. This role can be based in San Antonio, Austin, or Dallas .

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by TBPE
  • Texas PE License, Required
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with transportation engineering, construction, material testing and/or project management
  • Project Management Experience working directly with TxDOT or other Local Agencies with a focus on construction management of transportation projects
  • Proficient in performing constructability reviews and managing construction claims on transportation projects
  • Knowledge of State and local government standards and specifications
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • SiteManager or other construction tracking software
  • Technical report writing
  • Ability to travel, 25% of the time
  • Drive to and from job sites
  • Communicate effectively
  • Maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction management, QA/QC, and team development.
  • Ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Approve change orders, invoices, payment applications, and provide technical advice.
  • Develop relationships with public clients and execute CEI business strategies.
  • Maintain professional, ethical conduct and deliver on client expectations.
  • Lead, coordinate, and schedule work of field staff.
  • Manage resources effectively for CEI projects.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and review material sampling/testing.
  • Provide technical assistance, mentoring, and problem-solving for staff.
  • Use automated design and engineering systems.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants to address designs and construction issues.
  • Prepare project proposals and assist with invoicing.
  • Collect engineering data at project sites.
  • Ensure successful project delivery for TxDOT.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
