About The Position

Responsible for complete Project Management (personnel & processes) for the site processes in the assigned area for a new facility/production line. Manages all aspects of the Project from conception through completion within scope, cost, quality & schedule requirements. Leads & manages the Project Management team so that stated project objectives & solution requirements are met in compliance with company procedures & standards. Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with over 100 years of history in tackling serious chronic diseases. Our new Petersburg, Virginia site is a strategic expansion into Emerging Technologies (ET) for Chemical API development and production, strengthening our Small Molecule (SMOL) strategy and operational capacity. This role is crucial for supporting ET's SMOL projects and driving growth and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant disciplines from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of nine (9) years proven leadership & project management in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with Capital Investment Projects, with major projects exceeding $20M.
  • Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
  • Product/Process Transfer Projects experience.
  • Change Management Projects experience.

Responsibilities

  • Defining overall scope and establishing detailed RFPs for consultants (engineering, construction, cost estimations, equipment vendors, etc.).
  • Creating detailed business cases and presenting them to senior management for project funding.
  • Organizing and managing multi-disciplined project teams to ensure successful completion of deliverables, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, and employee development.
  • Managing major milestones, schedules, and monthly cost plans through Clarity & PEM processes.
  • Providing periodic project status updates to STC, including risks/mitigations, financial updates, and project outlook.
  • Managing project change control to ensure projects remain within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborating extensively with other Novo Nordisk sites and external stakeholders to gain best practices and equipment specifications.
  • Monitoring project progress, intervening, and problem-solving with other line managers or personnel.
  • Assisting with training for personnel supporting the project.
  • Ensuring all facets of the project lifecycle align with expectations, including installation, troubleshooting, qualification, and validation of equipment.
  • Leading and coaching Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to foster a high-performing collaborative team environment.
  • Following all safety and environmental requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
