About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of complex substation projects within GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration business. In this role, you will coordinate multiple sub-projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and customer-facing activities. You will be responsible for driving project execution from planning through delivery, while consolidating progress, risks, and priorities into a clear overall project view. The role also requires strong reporting and communication with leadership, as well as close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and contractual requirements. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution of large, complex substation projects within GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration (GSI) business, where multiple interdependent sub-projects must be coordinated into one integrated delivery plan. This role consolidates and supports activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and customer interface workstreams to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, cost, quality, and contract commitments. In addition to managing the full range of project management activities, the Senior Project Manager serves as a critical link between project execution teams and leadership, providing structured governance, reliable reporting, risk visibility, and timely escalation of issues affecting delivery. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination, deep understanding of substation project execution, and the ability to translate detailed project performance into clear insights and decision support for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience relevant to the role, preferably in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or other large and complex industrial projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-workstream projects across cross-functional and international environments
  • Strong grounding in project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks
  • Experience engaging global or regional stakeholders in matrixed organizations
  • Leads with structure and urgency — balancing competing priorities while driving consistent execution
  • Communicates with clarity across teams, customers, and senior leadership
  • Designs scalable frameworks and anticipates operational needs before they become obstacles
  • Diagnoses root causes, navigates ambiguity, and delivers practical, actionable solutions
  • Uses data, metrics, and trends to inform decisions and measure impact
  • Skilled at driving organizational change — building stakeholder buy-in and leading adoption across diverse teams

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Experience in substation or grid project environments is a strong advantage.

  • Lead the project kick-off meeting with all internal contributors and assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the customer kick-off meeting to communicate the nature of the work that will be done and clarify any issues in the order.
  • Lead the overall execution of complex substation projects, ensuring delivery in line with contractual scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Consolidate and coordinate activities across multiple sub-projects and workstreams, creating an integrated project view and ensuring alignment of priorities, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Drive project planning and execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance, including project reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalation management, and leadership reporting.
  • Monitor project performance against key metrics and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts that could affect successful delivery.
  • Support sub-project leaders and functional teams in resolving cross-functional challenges, removing execution barriers, and maintaining focus on critical path activities.
  • Manage customer communication and stakeholder coordination to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely resolution of technical, commercial, and execution-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, internal processes, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and safety expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead change management activities, including evaluation of scope changes, schedule impacts, cost implications, and associated approvals or customer notifications.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely project status updates, forecasts, and executive summaries to leadership, highlighting performance, risks, decisions required, and recovery actions where needed.
