About The Position

The Senior Project Management Specialist leads projects of varying complexity, risk, visibility, and organizational impact. The role develops and manages integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and implementation strategies, and coordinates projects within larger programs across business, product, technology, delivery, and process teams. The position aligns execution with business objectives and delivery commitments, manages project scope and change impacts, and supports operational readiness. The specialist builds partnerships and alignment among business leaders, technical teams, vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups. They manage dependencies and competing priorities, identify and address risks and issues, and provide executive-ready updates on project progress, risks, trade-offs, delivery confidence, outcomes, and decisions needed. The role also guides project teams, supports consistent project management practices and governance, and champions continuous improvement. The position can be performed remotely by candidates residing in the Des Moines, Iowa metro area.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Five years of experience in project management or a related field.
Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, governance practices, and delivery management principles.
Ability to lead several concurrent projects and drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence decisions and resolve conflicts.
Strong ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, process changes, and organizational impacts.
Working knowledge of Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery approaches, with the ability to apply appropriate practices based on project needs.

Program or project management certification such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or a related credential.

Responsibilities

Lead projects with varying complexity, organizational impact, risk, and visibility through successful completion.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and implementation strategies.
Manage projects within larger programs, coordinating integrated planning across business, product, technology, delivery, and process teams.
Align scope, timelines, dependencies, delivery commitments, process impacts, and operational readiness in integrated project plans.
Build partnerships with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and key stakeholders.
Coordinate execution with Program Management, Digital Product Management, Agile Delivery, Business Process Management, and Change Management, aligning business objectives, product priorities, delivery commitments, process changes, and operational outcomes.
Facilitate resolution of dependencies and competing priorities across business, product, delivery, process management, and technology functions.
Provide executive-ready updates on progress, risks, issues, trade-offs, outcomes, dependencies, delivery confidence, and decision needs to sponsors, stakeholders, and leadership teams.
Identify, evaluate, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, trade-offs, and change impacts.
Incorporate change management, communications, stakeholder engagement, process readiness, and adoption activities into project plans.
Develop mitigation strategies and drive resolution of issues that may affect project outcomes.
Provide guidance and informal mentoring to project teams.
Support consistency in project management methodologies, tools, reporting, governance practices, and cross-functional delivery partnerships.
Champion continuous improvement in project management practices, governance, reporting, delivery partnerships, and process alignment.
