The Senior Project Management Specialist has extensive knowledge of the principles of Federal and State environmental regulations and the application of these principles within the SEPTA capital program. Manages various environmental technical areas including but not limited to community impact, environmental justice, natural resources, threatened and endangered species, wetlands, historic and archaeological resources and NEPA clearance documents. The Senior Project Management Specialist reviews federally funded capital projects for compliance to all applicable federal or state environmental laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The Senior Project Management Specialist must come in contact with many people at higher organization levels, both within SEPTA and outside the Authority. His/Her contacts may include Chief Engineers, Deputy Chief Engineers, and various Department Heads within SEPTA, as well as consultant and contractor firm’s managers, and Federal, State, City and local government officials. The individual, therefore, must possess the ability to communicate effectively in an executive, non-technical environment.
