About The Position

As a member of the O&T Propulsion Productivity squad, you will support, lead, and execute life‑cycle cost (LCC) reduction initiatives for propulsion equipment within the Global Services Organization (GSO). As a Lead Project Management Specialist, you will help guide the Propulsion LCC organization to identify, prioritize, and deliver high‑impact cost‑reduction projects across the GSO network. In this role, you will influence cross‑functional teams and drive innovative locomotive maintenance cost‑out initiatives, owning both short‑ and long‑term results for a multi‑million‑dollar project portfolio. Your scope will span Customer Service Centers (CSCs) and remanufacturing shops, requiring strong collaboration, execution discipline, and data‑driven decision‑making. You will also play a critical role in advancing the adoption and enhancement of emerging technologies for propulsion equipment inspection, condition monitoring, and prognostics in the field—helping to modernize maintenance practices, improve reliability, and sustain productivity gains over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 7 years of experience in Services or Operations or Technology or Project Management roles
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management and technical problem solving
  • Expertise in Data analysis to drive decisions, prioritize work, and deliver results
  • Strong understanding of services, supply chain and shop operations
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time

  • Experience with Propulsion, mechanical, or locomotive systems
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills; develop innovative, practical solutions
  • Expertise in metallic component repair processes (inspection, rework, and refurbishment)
  • Understanding of services, supply chain, and shop/remanufacturing operations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet milestones in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
  • Solid business, technical, and financial acumen to evaluate trade-offs and build project cases
  • Familiarity with Wabtec and Global Services (GSO) processes, systems, and terminology
