About The Position

The Senior Project Installation Manager for Turbomachinery Equipment will oversee the installation, commissioning, and warranty phases of turbomachinery equipment at customer sites across North America. This role requires an understanding of turbomachinery systems, concepts and interfaces, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of skilled technicians and engineers. A key focus of the role will be on driving quality, ensuring safety, promoting customer satisfaction and overall profitability of assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management, preferably for large EPCs companies, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or end users in installation and commissioning related roles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English and master presentations at executive level.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and exhibit strong behavioral, influencing, and leadership competencies.
  • Proficient in managing project financials, including revenues, contribution margin and cash.
  • Thorough knowledge of T&Cs glossary and dynamics, including contractual provisions, risks, claims and remedies management.
  • Good background in Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Compressor technologies as well as in energy transition technologies such hydrogen, carbon capture, geothermal and energy storage.
  • Able to travel internationally to visit customers or Baker Hughes locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the installation, commissioning, start-up and warranty management of turbomachinery equipment, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Cultivate and drive a culture of execution, continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage project financial performances, including planning and reporting of assigned projects in terms of costs, revenues, contribution margins and cash collections.
  • Indirectly lead and mentor a team of installation technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical input during the installation process, troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the installation phase, addressing any concerns and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promote Baker Hughes’ commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, installation records, and as-built drawings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance installation efficiency and quality.
  • Regularly communicate project status, key milestones, and any critical issues to high management, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
