Senior Project Engineer

IRENMackenzie, BC

About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to coordinate and integrate engineering activities across capital projects, supporting safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution across Canada. This role serves as the central coordination point between internal engineering teams, external consultants, equipment vendors, and project stakeholders — working across multiple projects concurrently to ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with project priorities, schedules, and execution needs. This is a project-facing, execution-focused role. It is not a discipline engineering position. You’re accountable for ensuring engineering work moves efficiently through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. You’ve likely spent years in capital, industrial, or infrastructure project environments — coordinating across disciplines, managing competing priorities, and driving engineering deliverables to meet construction schedules. You understand what good engineering coordination looks like, and you know how to keep things moving in fast-paced, rapidly scaling environments. As Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate engineering activities across multiple capital projects, acting as the central integration point between engineering teams, procurement, construction, and operations. You’ll drive alignment of engineering deliverables to critical path and construction needs, manage interfaces between disciplines and vendors, and reduce delays caused by coordination gaps, unclear ownership, or late inputs. This is a coordination and execution role requiring strong organizational skills, cross-functional communication, and the ability to operate effectively in environments with ambiguity and evolving processes.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical or project delivery experience
  • Experience supporting engineering execution on capital, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of engineering workflows, design processes, and construction interfaces
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within Western Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with shared engineering resources across multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience in fast-paced or rapidly scaling project environments
  • Data centre, HPC, or mission-critical infrastructure project experience
  • PMP, P.Eng, or equivalent professional designation
