Senior Project Engineer
About The Position
Hydrasearch is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, MD. In this role, you will serve as a key technical contributor responsible for accelerating execution of engineering development initiatives supporting Hydrasearch's aerospace and defense programs. This role will focus on solving complex technical problems, driving rapid development efforts, and enabling new technical capabilities. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on technical problem solving, development coordination, and rapid solution implementation. The Senior Project Engineer will work within a small, highly capable technical team executing rapid development cycles including design, prototype, validation, and transition to production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 4–8 years of engineering experience.
- Experience working in manufacturing or product-based environments.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and understanding of the engineering development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated capability in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Experience bringing technical projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong ownership mentality and personal accountability for results.
- Ability to move quickly without waiting for perfect information and comfort operating with limited struct
Nice To Haves
- Experience in regulated industries such as Aerospace (AS9100), Defense, Naval, or Marine environments.
- Experience working in small advanced development teams or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
- CAPM or PMP certification
- Advanced engineering degree
- Minimum 2 years leading projects or major technical workstreams.
- Experience with PPAP, qualification, and validation activities.
