  • Bachelor’s degree required; mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial plant environment, such as process engineering, maintenance, operations, project engineering, or related technical functions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial project management experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Successful completion of required pre-employment checks, including background screening and drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept through completion, including scoping, estimating, funding, design coordination, equipment and material procurement, contractor selection, field execution, operations handover, and project closeout.
  • Serve as the project owner for non-turnaround and turnaround capital work across regional HyCO and Air Separation facilities.
  • Champion Air Products’ safety culture and demonstrate a visible commitment to achieving zero injuries, incidents, and environmental harm.
  • Develop project estimates, funding requests, schedules, forecasts, and execution plans that support safe, on-time, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, resources, contractors, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide field supervision and on-site construction management support during project execution.
  • Ensure projects meet operability, quality, reliability, and customer requirements in partnership with operations, maintenance, engineering, and site leadership.
  • Coordinate process hazard reviews, operational readiness reviews, handover inspections, startup action items, and project closeout activities.
  • Support regional turnarounds, typically one to two per year, by leading assigned capital project execution activities.
  • Conduct project safety kickoff meetings with contractors and operations teams before field execution begins.
  • Clearly communicate project safety expectations, including zero recordables and zero first aids.
  • Lead daily toolbox and safety meetings with craft teams during field execution.
  • Verify contractor understanding of Air Products safety standards and site requirements.
  • Complete daily safety observations, job safety analysis reviews, and field audits during execution.
  • Participate in the safe work permit process with operations and support continuous improvement through monthly team safety meetings.
