About The Position

Join Crusoe as a Senior Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end execution of our complex, Engineered-to-Order (ETO) equipment. You will be the primary driver behind the delivery of modular integrated buildings, low-voltage switchboards, and medium-voltage switchgear. In this role, you will move beyond pure technical execution to own the strategic lifecycle of each project. You will serve as the critical link between design engineering, supply chain, and production, ensuring that custom customer requirements are translated into a high-quality product delivered on time and within budget. Your focus will be on high-level orchestration: balancing schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and proactively mitigating risks before they reach the factory floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management or project engineering, specifically within an ETO or complex assembly environment.
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects from design through commissioning, particularly with heavy equipment or power infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret complex 3D models (SolidWorks) and electrical schematics to make informed decisions regarding project impact.
  • Extensive experience using ERP/MRP software at a strategic level to manage project BOMs, inventory, and schedules.
  • Exceptional ability to utilize a first-principles approach to solve multi-faceted logistical and technical problems.
  • Familiarity with relevant building and safety codes (NEC, UL); this is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol program participation.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management or an equivalent field.
  • Deep experience specifically with switchboards, switchgear, or modular industrial enclosures.
  • Demonstrated success in managing external contractors and strategic vendors during large-scale builds.

Responsibilities

  • Own the scope, schedule, and budget for complex ETO (Engineered to Order) projects, ensuring successful delivery of modular buildings and power distribution systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines; oversee and advise on the allocation of engineering and manufacturing resources to ensure alignment with delivery goals.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to identify long-lead items early; lead strategic sourcing efforts to ensure material availability for custom assemblies.
  • Independently lead the implementation of complex Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), analyzing and mitigating their impact on project timelines, inventory, and production costs.
  • Partner daily with the manufacturing team to identify potential bottlenecks or technical hurdles early in the project lifecycle to ensure world-class efficiency and safety.
  • Drive strategic collaboration between Sales, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve high-level challenges and ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Create and enforce standards for project documentation and reporting, ensuring all phases of the ETO process comply with internal quality and safety standards.
