About The Position

Provide technical and administrative support for the Construction Department. This role involves performing internal reviews of Change Orders, Field Orders, and other contractual documents for Construction projects. The Senior Project Engineer will coordinate with staff and Project Teams on the review and processing of Change Orders for all active construction projects, ensuring completeness and facilitating timely processing. The position requires the ability to read and interpret construction plans, assist in preparing reports, and collect/track lessons learned for project closeouts. The role also involves monitoring changes and revisions to ensure timely processing of Change Orders and Field Orders, submitting them for final approvals, and reviewing/following Standard Operating Procedures for CO Processing. Facilitating resolution of conflicts and issues, assisting in coordination meetings with the field, and generating/distributing meeting minutes are key responsibilities. Maintaining electronic files and records, performing other job-related duties as assigned, maintaining a log of daily tasks, and performing other administrative duties as directed by management are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a similar role or position.
  • BS/BA Degree in construction, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum years stated above may be substituted for the required education.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Experience using BlueBeam and Adobe software for document reviews/mark-ups.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions.
  • Effectively manage daily work.
  • Good communication skills verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Change Orders and Supporting documentation.
  • Previous experience with educational facilities.
  • Experience working on a large client program.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Prolog, Trimble Unity Construct (formerly e-Builder), Proliance or other PMIS.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat sign (formerly Adobe E-Sign).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor changes and revisions to insure timely processing of Change Orders and Field Orders.
  • Submits CO and FO for final approvals.
  • Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures for CO Processing.
  • Facilitate resolution of conflicts and issues to maintain timely workflow.
  • Assist in coordination meetings with field.
  • Generate and distribute meeting minutes to confirm discussions.
  • Maintain electronic files and records for all projects.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains log of daily tasks and submits a monthly to management for review.
  • Perform other relatively similar administrative duties as directed by the management.
