About The Position

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Construction Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Seattle! This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures, and business policies. The initial project through October 2026 is off-site, and travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field.
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
  • Able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.
  • Verification of employment to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore).
  • Design-build commercial construction experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.
  • Internships will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.
