About The Position

The Senior Project Engineer serves as the engineering lead on customer-facing system integration projects, owning execution from concept through commissioning. This role ensures delivery of complex material handling systems on time, on budget, and to scope. It is central to Körber’s mission to scale its integration business and requires technical depth, operational rigor, and direct customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in system-level engineering, ideally in material handling, automation, or capital equipment environments
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks, and are familiar with developing full technical data packages (drawings, BOMs, manuals)
  • Ability to balance design intent with execution realities, managing scope, cost, and resource constraints
  • Collaborative, hands-on mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments where outcomes matter
  • Strong track record in project execution—owning technical delivery from engineering through on-site installation
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required by business needs
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all required travel documentation, including a valid passport where international travel is necessary
  • Must be able to lawfully enter and exit the United States and other countries required for business travel
  • Must not have any legal or regulatory restrictions that would prevent the issuance, renewal, or use of required travel documents, or otherwise limit the ability to fulfill the travel requirements of the role
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Not eligible for Visa Sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution-based engineering for large-scale system integration projects, acting as the primary technical point of contact for customers and internal teams
  • Translate requirements into actionable engineering plans, coordinating mechanical design, equipment specifications, and on-site implementation
  • Work across disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, Software) to align deliverables, troubleshoot issues, and drive schedule adherence
  • Manage engineering execution from kick-off through commissioning, including site support, FAT/SAT participation, and resolution of field issues
  • Oversee internal and external engineering resources, including offshore teams or outsourced partners, on a per-project basis
  • Apply practical understanding of conveyor, singulation, sortation, and other material handling technologies to ensure seamless system performance
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Manufacturing to validate feasibility, cost, and scope alignment during project planning
