About The Position

Ethos and Hanley Pepper are recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to lead coordinated civil engineering delivery across substantial or complex project packages. This is a full-time, Dublin-based hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office. The position supports a portfolio of complex buildings and infrastructure projects, including data centres, and combines engineering management and delivery leadership with design calculations and accountability for technical outcomes, programme commitments, quality, and delivery through others. Reporting to senior management, the Senior Project Engineer will lead complex packages and coordinated workstreams involving multiple contributors. The role has a direct effect on delivery quality, programme, technical risk, and team performance. The postholder will make technical and delivery decisions within delegated authority, escalating strategic or commercial commitments, while building team capability, improving methods, and supporting reliable delivery across projects. The work includes coordinating civil design packages across multiple projects; overseeing engineers and technicians; carrying out civil design calculations, particularly for stormwater management, SUDS, hydrology, geotechnical requirements, and mass haul; managing client and architect relationships; monitoring scope, programme, and quality; reporting progress; and visiting sites across Europe. The role also includes coaching developing engineers, promoting safe design and regulatory compliance, and applying digital tools and quality assurance processes. Ethos is a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering data centre and energy infrastructure projects across EMEA and other markets. Hanley Pepper provides civil and structural engineering services and has completed more than 2,000 national and international projects over close to 40 years. Ethos acquired Hanley Pepper in 2026 to expand its civil and structural capabilities.
