About The Position

Collins Aerospace is a leader in the advancement of electrification technology for the next generation of sustainable aircraft. These technology developments encompass hybrid propulsion as well as all-electric applications in both commercial and military markets. This role will support Propulsion Electrification programs and lab activities within the Electric Power Systems value stream including "The Grid" - the most advanced electric power systems lab in the industry. The System Integration Test Equipment team is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to develop project plans and budgets, pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, and monitor project performance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Prior experience in project engineering, systems integration, or related technical roles
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex projects, working with a cross-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers
  • Create and maintain project schedules and budget forecast for new system development programs, as well as capital projects
  • Identifies and reacts to project issues and recommends solutions
  • Manage work packages and schedule with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Provide metrics and associated analysis to the program office for periodic Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting
  • Work closely with the Section Manager to assign project priorities, assign engineering resources to projects, and assess risks.
  • Lead weekly project status reviews with the team
  • Provide project status reports to Senior Management, Program Management and Finance
  • Primary focal point between Engineering Test Equipment and internal and external customers
