About The Position

Collins Aerospace is a leader in the advancement of electrification technology for the next generation of sustainable aircraft. These technology developments encompass hybrid propulsion as well as all-electric applications in both commercial and military markets. This role will support Propulsion Electrification programs and lab activities within the Electric Power Systems value stream including "The Grid" - the most advanced electric power systems lab in the industry. The System Integration Test Equipment team is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to develop project plans and budgets, pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability, and monitor project performance.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Prior experience in project engineering, systems integration, or related technical roles
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Track, monitor, and report on overall project performance to ensure successful execution

Responsibilities

Manage complex projects, working with a cross-functional team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers
Create and maintain project schedules and budget forecast for new system development programs, as well as capital projects
Identifies and reacts to project issues and recommends solutions
Manage work packages and schedule with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Provide metrics and associated analysis to the program office for periodic Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting
Work closely with the Section Manager to assign project priorities, assign engineering resources to projects, and assess risks.
Lead weekly project status reviews with the team
Provide project status reports to Senior Management, Program Management and Finance
Primary focal point between Engineering Test Equipment and internal and external customers
