Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon’s Quality and Mission Assurance group in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Test Equipment (TE) Quality Engineer. You will collaborate with the Engineering Rapid Build Services (ERBS) in support of 40+ Planners and 40+ Assembly, Test and Inspection technicians in following command media. Act as a Quality Subject Matter Expert in conjunction with Test Manufacturing leadership to drive down defects and address quality, process, supplier, manufacturing, supply chain and other related issues throughout all life-cycle phases. You will develop, update and maintain Process documentation and Command Media surrounding Test Equipment Quality, Test Manufacturing, and the Test Manufacturing TE-04.03 Workmanship Standard. You will be part of the program TE teams that design, integrate, release to production and provide Test Equipment Modifications to production TE.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience. Relevant experience is working with Test Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering in the aerospace and/or defense industry, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Work experience in root cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Active secret government clearance
  • Working experience interpreting Mechanical, Electrical and Software drawings/specifications.
  • Test Equipment development and/or testing experience.
  • Working experience performing test analyses and supporting integration and sell-off of test equipment.
  • Prior Quality Engineering experience.
  • Experience using Agile, Code Analysis and/or Test Automation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases from TE Proposals through TE Retirement (Cradle to Grave).
  • Advise Program Quality on build-related issues that might impact program risk.
  • Provide defect disposition if the criteria are ambiguous or subject to interpretation.
  • Maintain the Lien, Administrative Closure and similar process documentation.
  • Work with Build-to-Print suppliers in defect resolution and reduction efforts.
  • Manage Quality Notes (Q-Notes) in the Engineering Manufacturing Management System (EMMS).
  • Develop and present Quality Topics at Lunch and Learn’s at Planner Meetings and other department venues.
  • Assess engineering work products (Drawings, Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects.
  • Be a Change Control Board panel member for program TE.
  • Review contract deliverables and coordinate with program personnel and Defense Contract Management Agency for DD250 sell-off / customer acceptance.
  • Participate in Software reviews and station lockdowns.
  • Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance, resolution and closure of open issues, and ensure quality and configuration of program assets.
  • Review risk and opportunity data to shepherd projects to eliminate or reduce risks and/or realize opportunities.
  • Oversee and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls along with continuous improvement methods
  • Travel to local (Tucson and Phoenix-Metro) suppliers to maintain relationships and work ongoing process improvement and defect reduction efforts.
  • Conduct drawing reviews following Engineering Documentation Standards and best technical practices.
  • Potentially travel to any location that needs TEQE support domestically.
