About The Position

Martin/Martin, inc. is seeking a licensed, experienced Structural Engineer with a demonstrated history of project management experience to join our growing team in San Mateo, California. This role offers the chance to work on structural design projects both nationally and internationally across diverse markets such as healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, and education. While many of our projects are located in California, Martin/Martin’s national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
  • 9 years progressive engineering experience
  • 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience with high seismic engineering focused work
  • Current California SE licensure or ability to obtain specific SE licensure within the state of California within 1 year
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in the San Mateo area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering and technician staff to successfully complete projects
  • Build relationships with the project team and serve as the primary point-of-contact for clients and contractors throughout the design and construction phases
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
  • Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans
  • Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff, assisting with their career development
  • Take an active role in representing the firm in business development pursuits
