Senior Structural Engineer | Project Manager
About The Position
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to provide technical leadership, project oversight, and client engagement for transportation infrastructure projects across the New England region. This role involves providing technical oversight and quality assurance for structural engineering design and analysis, leading the planning, design, rehabilitation, and inspection of transportation structures, and developing and reviewing structural design calculations and analysis models. The position also requires developing and reviewing complete project deliverables (plans, specs, estimates) for all phases of design, developing staged construction schemes, and preparing written correspondence and reports. Additionally, the role includes managing construction phase services, assisting in the development of project scopes and fees, developing and maintaining strong relationships with transportation agencies and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor to DOT clients throughout New England, leading or contributing to proposals, interviews, and project capture strategies, identifying opportunities for growth within transportation infrastructure markets, and supporting recruiting and talent development initiatives within the region.
Requirements
- 12+ years of transportation design structures experience
- PE license required
- Working knowledge of codes and standards (AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc)
- Experience with CTDOT, MassDOT, and RIDOT polices and manuals
- Relevant structural analysis and cadd software (Larsa, Staad, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, etc)
- Strong writing and verbal skills
- BS, MS (preferred)
- Rail experience (preferred)
- Alternative delivery experience (preferred)
- National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspection experience a plus (preferred)
- Experience serving as discipline lead, practice lead, section manager (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for structural engineering design and analysis.
- Lead the planning, design, rehabilitation, and inspection of transportation structures.
- Develop and review structural design calculations and analysis models.
- Develop and review complete project deliverables (plans, specs, estimates) for all phases of design.
- Develop staged construction schemes.

- Manage construction phase services, including submittal review and RFI responses.
- Assist in the development of project scopes and fees.

- Identify opportunities for growth within transportation infrastructure markets.
