About The Position

CMTA is seeking an Associate Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer responsible for overseeing and managing a range of projects, both large and small, with a focus on providing technical leadership in Plumbing/Fire Protection design. This role involves acting as the face of the company during interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. As a first-level project team manager, you will coordinate and manage team activities and may be accountable for individual technical design due to the diverse project types and sizes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; PE highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 -10 years of experience in Plumbing/Fire Protection engineering; field experience required; people management experience highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards, engineering drafting standards, mechanical engineering standards, and other trades
  • Expert understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experiencing managing and assisting in managing project teams
  • Current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams, coordinate, and conduct daily team activities
  • Advance the design of projects under your supervision
  • Coordinate and lead daily team activities with inside and outside design team members
  • Advance the design of the project with those you supervise
  • Become responsible for managing projects through all phases of development
  • Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex projects
  • Learn and understand contract terms and the scope of service
  • Responsible for all facets of product delivery to assigned clients and shares accountability for satisfaction
  • Manage a significant amount of work as a project manager and be responsible for several projects
  • Build relationships with the design team and/or clients
  • Respond to requests from clients and communicate information on time to strengthen trust in your advisor
  • Work with the Group Leader to inform, manage, and meet project schedules
  • Mentor 1-2 developing engineers
