About The Position

Ethos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer with over 10 years of experience to lead the design of mechanical building services for data centre projects. This role involves overseeing projects across the EMEA region, managing the entire project lifecycle from concept to client handover. The engineer will be responsible for project delivery, fostering strong client relationships, and mentoring engineering staff to ensure quality standards are met. A key aspect of this position is managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring team members stay on track with their deliverables.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
Hold a professional qualification.
Excellent communication skills, representing Ethos as the design team in client meetings.
Ability to lead projects and take briefs from the project lead on large projects, delivering and controlling the required tasks.
Ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritise, and delegate as appropriate to meet project deadlines.
Excellent report writing skills and the ability to explain complex engineering issues in simple and clear language.
Good understanding of HVAC and building controls.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems is preferred.
Training and mentorship will be provided to develop the right candidate to progress into a lead role within the Data Centre team.

Engage in resource management to optimise resource allocation and project execution.
Promote a positive message internally and externally to enhance team morale and the company’s reputation.
Training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of the group.
