About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the integration and delivery of electrical systems supporting the turbine-generator package and auxiliary power systems for a major power generation project. This role will provide technical leadership from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • P.Eng. designation required
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • 10+ years supporting large power generation, nuclear, utility, or EPC projects.
  • Experience with generator systems, grid integration, OEM/vendor management, and commissioning activities.
  • Large synchronous generators
  • Generator protection, excitation, and cooling systems
  • Generator step-up transformers and isolated phase bus systems
  • Medium and low-voltage power distribution
  • Protection & control systems
  • Grid interconnection and power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability)
  • Experience with major nuclear or power generation projects, including OPG, Bruce Power, Darlington, Pickering, or generator OEM organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical engineering strategy, design requirements, and technical standards for Conventional Island systems.
  • Manage integration of generator systems, excitation, protection, cooling, monitoring, grounding, and auxiliary electrical systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with turbine and generator OEMs, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Support grid interconnection activities, including synchronization, protection coordination, load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
  • Develop technical specifications, support procurement activities, and lead technical evaluations.
  • Coordinate across engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Participate in design reviews, FATs, SATs, startup, commissioning, and performance testing.
