About The Position

As a Project Control Scheduler / Planner, you will play a key role in delivering complex environmental and infrastructure projects that protect communities and support long‑term sustainability. This on‑site position in Port Hope, Ontario offers the opportunity to be closely connected to project teams, construction activities, and stakeholders, enabling hands‑on involvement in schedule development, risk mitigation, and performance tracking. You will support the successful execution of high‑profile programs by bringing structure, insight, and foresight to project planning and controls. You will contribute to realistic, logic‑driven schedules that guide decision‑making and keep projects moving forward safely and efficiently. This role is well‑suited for a seasoned scheduling professional who thrives in a dynamic, delivery‑focused environment and values being embedded with the project team. We are open to candidates from across Canada, but this role is based on-site, 5 days/week, in Port Hope, Ontario.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in project controls, with 7+ years in a planning/scheduling role on major projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6; experience with MS Project considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, including earned value analysis, schedule risk analysis, and delay analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and executive‑level summaries.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Commitment to health and safety, with the ability to work in varied environments when required.
  • Must be eligible for CNL Reliability Security Status (individual must have 3 full years of current, verifiable history in Canada).

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for medium to major projects.
  • Analyze project progress, identify critical paths, and forecast risks, delays, and mitigation strategies.
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities into achievable, logic‑driven schedules.
  • Apply earned value management techniques to measure project performance and progress accurately.
  • Translate change orders into updated schedules and perform scenario and “what‑if” analyses to support decision‑making.
  • Prepare schedule narratives, delay analyses, and reports to support claims, dispute resolution, and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure schedules are realistic, aligned, and achievable.
  • Support project teams with accurate forecasting, labour planning, and schedule quality compliance.
