About The Position

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Architect - Asset Advisory & Capital Planning to lead the execution, delivery, and growth of comprehensive Asset Management and Asset Advisory services. This role spans a wide range of programs—from long-term capital planning and feasibility studies to ADA assessments—with an added focus on helping clients make data-driven decisions around facility investments, lifecycle planning, and portfolio optimization. The Senior Project Architect will lead multi-disciplinary project teams and serve as the key bridge between client-facing teams and technical operations. The ideal candidate brings a balance of people leadership, client consulting, and program delivery expertise. This role requires a Registered Architect in the State of California and is a remote role with regional travel—candidates must reside in California or a Western state adjacent to California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in architecture, facility assessments, capital planning, asset management, or asset advisory services.
  • 5+ years of experience in Facility Condition Assessments (FCA), PCA reports, and capital planning.
  • Experience in Asset Advisory, cost modeling, or lifecycle ROI analysis
  • Solid understanding of building systems, infrastructure, and facility operations.
  • Experience working with public sector, higher education, or institutional clients.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to guide clients through complex facility portfolios and planning challenges.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you build trust fast and lead with clarity.
  • Current California Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) or license in being in good standing.
  • Valid driver's license required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record)
  • Ability to successfully work from remote location.
  • Ability to travel by plane, motor vehicle, train to client/project sites across the U.S.
  • Proficient in operating a computer, having knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.
  • Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field for live data collection.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Asset Management and Asset Advisory programs for key clients in education, government, industrial, and commercial sectors.
  • Oversee and mentor a cross-functional team of Architects, Engineers, Certified Energy Managers, and Building Analysts—your team is in the field and at the desk, conducting facility condition assessments, lifecycle cost analysis, equipment inventories, and ADA evaluations.
  • Ensure assessment teams collect, verify, and interpret building, infrastructure, accessibility, and building systems data, translating field observations into defensible capital planning strategies and actionable facility investment recommendations.
  • Serve as the architectural subject matter expert for facility condition assessments, ADA compliance evaluations, building envelope systems, life safety considerations, and capital renewal planning.
  • Review assessment findings and provide professional architectural judgment regarding asset condition, risk exposure, deferred maintenance, and long-term facility performance.
  • Mentor architects, engineers, and assessment professionals while fostering technical excellence and consistency across program delivery.
  • Review and enhance technical reports, ensuring deliverables are not just accurate—but actionable, consistent, and aligned with client goals.
  • Collaborate with sales, scoping new opportunities and building compelling proposals that define client-specific program goals.
  • Be the point person for the client—advising, guiding, and translating technical jargon into boardroom clarity.
  • Identify internal process improvements, drive standardization across reporting and workflows, and champion quality control across all program activities.
  • Participate in industry events, present client results, and contribute to thought leadership in the Asset Management and Advisory space.
  • Be willing and able to perform the duties of a Senior Project Manager when needed, including field assessments, report writing, or client presentations.
  • Dictate to the team the program’s standards and procedures.
  • Serves as the main point-of-contact with client during the execution of projects and programs.
  • Prepares progress reports to share with client.
  • Assures client satisfaction and goals are met through timely responsiveness and feedback.
  • Attends meetings with Sales team and client.
  • Facilitates communication across work streams and projects to minimize disruption to the organization of program/project implementation.
  • Responsible for managing programs within budget and on-time, while providing high client satisfaction. This includes managing budget, potential risk, client communication, change orders, and report delivery.
  • Manages field staff and staff’s schedule.
  • Involved in developing new service offerings.
  • Creates and develops report templates.
  • Responsible for proposal development of client and project specific scopes of work.
  • Directly interfaces with sales staff to assure client expectations are being met.
  • Serves as an available consultative resource for clients and may participate in sales calls or presentations.
  • Performs technical reviews of deliverables for technical accuracy, client expectations, compliance of scope and consistency.
  • Reviews and evaluates work progress, identifies problems, and provides technical direction and guidance to assigned staff.
  • Acts as technical lead, providing guidance and technical direction for field staff.
  • Supports the department’s recruiting activities through resume review, phone screens, interviews, and selection of candidates for field staff roles.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying new and existing legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary action.
