About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect with a passion for great design, looking for a fun, collaborative environment with diverse resources. This role involves providing design and delivery process leadership to the full design team and the client team, managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination. The architect will be responsible for full documentation coordination with consultants, resolving complex technical and design issues, and directing the production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks. The position requires oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality, facilitating submittal/substitution requests, and addressing RFIs during construction. The role also includes interfacing with building and permitting officials, coordinating client billing and collections, and managing client expectations and team communication. Experience in New York BD and Client Relationship is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field
  • Licensed Architect with 15 plus years of professional experience in Architecture
  • Experience working with the New York School Construction Authority
  • Experience in managing multiple project types for healthcare clients
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling software
  • Excellent written + verbal communication and client relationship management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and delivery process leadership to the full design team and the client team
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative technical/constructable solutions
  • Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks
  • Responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality
  • Facilitate the process for submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
  • Coordinate client billing and follow up with the client on collection
  • Managing client expectations, team communication, and oversight of consultant coordination
