As a licensed Architect, you will be responsible for guiding design teams through design and technical development on multiple projects or large complex projects. This role involves risk management review and managing all technical documents through each phase of construction. You will serve as a resource across the organization through training, mentoring, and conducting seminars, while sustaining and raising the firm's image as a design-driven firm. Staying current on technical innovations and trends of specific project types is crucial, as is taking initiative for providing continuing education opportunities for staff. You will assist the Principal-in-Charge, Project Manager, and Project Designers in developing marketing materials and project narratives, and participate in marketing meetings and interviews. Representing the Firm by actively participating in external professional organizations and social functions, and developing white papers and thought leadership pieces for industry organizations are also key aspects of this role. In terms of design leadership, your responsibilities will include exploration of subject areas, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of novel concepts and methods. You will manage a large number of consultants, delegate work assignments, and provide direction and guidance to junior staff. Developing solutions to technical problems, designing and reviewing production drawings, managing record keeping, implementing risk management standards, and reviewing documents with appropriate authorities of jurisdiction are essential. While administering some management tasks like staffing, fee estimating, scheduling, and reviewing payment requests, your primary focus will be on developing solutions through technical and design refinement. You will develop, design, and review production drawings and construction documents for compliance with design intent, building systems, construction detailing, and coordination with specifications. Responding to bid inquiries, meeting with governmental agencies, committees, or officials for project presentation, approvals, and permits, conducting on-site observations and preparing observation reports, and conducting project close-out efforts including punch lists, certificate of occupancy, and certificate of substantial completion are also part of the role. You will be responsible for managing all technical documentation through all phases of construction, including proposal requests, change orders, revisions to project scope, and project close-out efforts. Risk management is a critical component, involving check set and risk management reviews, keeping records of design decisions, and providing effective technical oversight to ensure projects meet the Firm's quality control and quality assurance standards.
