Senior Project Architect

FLATIRON DEVELOPMENT & CUSTOM HOMESBroomfield, CO
$80,000 - $100,000Onsite

About The Position

We are a high-end residential design-build firm specializing in custom homes on the Colorado Front Range. Every home is custom designed, requiring close coordination between architecture, engineering, and construction. We are seeking a highly experienced, self-directed Senior Project Architect to take ownership of custom residential projects from initial client meeting through design development, engineering coordination, construction documents, and permitting. This is a hands-on role for someone who can function as a project owner, not simply a production team member. You will work directly with clients, develop designs, make architectural decisions, coordinate consultants, and produce complete, permit-ready sets with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone who can take a project and run with it.

Requirements

  • Highly self-directed and able to determine next steps without step-by-step direction.
  • Experience independently managing large, custom residential projects from client contact through permit.
  • Strong knowledge of residential design, construction, detailing, and building systems.
  • Ability to produce complete, coordinated architectural permit/CD sets.
  • Experience coordinating engineers and consultants.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to work in-office full time.
  • Advanced Autodesk Revit proficiency.
  • Enscape or similar rendering software experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High-end custom residential experience.
  • Design-build experience.
  • Knowledge of Colorado Front Range jurisdictions, codes, and permitting.

  • Architectural licensure is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods.
  • 7+ years of professional architectural experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary architectural contact for assigned projects.
  • Meet with clients to understand needs, goals, budget, and design preferences.
  • Lead design from concept through Design Development.
  • Establish priorities, manage deadlines, and independently move projects forward.
  • Prepare client renderings using Enscape, Lumion, D5, or similar software.
  • Coordinate structural, mechanical, civil, energy, and other consultants.
  • Review engineering documents and proactively resolve conflicts.
  • Coordinate energy-code requirements, HERS documentation, and other project requirements.
  • Develop complete bid, construction, and permit sets.
  • Produce and maintain accurate Revit models and drawings.
  • Apply applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Prepare permit submissions and respond to plan review comments.
  • Respond to RFIs and change orders.
