About The Position

The Office of Information Technology at the State of Maine is looking for an experienced Senior Programmer Analyst to join the Enterprise Data Services team. This role will support the delivery of technology services to State Government, specifically focusing on data integrations. The Data Integrations team implements and maintains a system of data interfaces using technologies such as Enterprise Service Bus, PL/SQL, Java, and related tools. The Senior Programmer Analyst will work with a team of developers to support the development, maintenance, and implementation of these integrations, interacting with customers daily and managing assignments across multiple applications and projects simultaneously. The role also involves evaluating existing code, migrating functionality to new technologies, testing and debugging programs, educating users, creating documentation, and serving as an advisor to technical staff and customers. Requirements

  • Four (4) years of computer programming experience utilizing higher level languages including two (2) years at the Programmer Analyst level or equivalent
  • OR a Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences including two (2) years at the Programmer Analyst level or equivalent
  • A Masters Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for one (1) year of programming experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop data integrations, ETLs, and Web Services using Java, PL/SQL, SSIS, T-SQL, XML, JSON, Oracle Service Bus, and BPEL
  • Evaluate existing code and migrate current functionality into new technology
  • Test, debug, and correct programs to ensure proper functionality
  • Educate users on the use of programs and program features, utilizing various communication mediums
  • Create documentation in support of daily tasks, team and user education, or for ongoing and upcoming projects
  • Serve as advisors for other technical staff and customers
