About The Position

ASRC Federal Data Solutions (AFDS) supports NASA's High Performance Computing Services program at Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. The Senior Programmer/Analyst joins the Infrastructure team and supports tool and application development and optimization for NASA projects and systems. The role supports infrastructure systems used in HPC operations and the mission of the Human-Systems Integration Division, including research conducted by the Airspace Operations Laboratory (AOL). AOL focuses on operator-centric advanced aeronautics concepts through prototyping, simulations, and flight evaluations. The position uses traditional and advanced software development techniques to create and sustain capabilities for aeronautics research. It involves frequent interaction with government leaders and technical staff, collaboration with other programmers and developers, mentoring junior staff, troubleshooting complex issues, and aligning development with mission priorities. Work includes developing systems for large-data processing and visualization, simulation scenario generation, data analysis and post-processing, and AI/ML applications for aerospace research. The role also supports data collection in laboratory settings and flight-test activities.
