About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Senior Program Coordinator by developing a talent pool within the CalFresh spectrum and ensuring business needs are met in a timely manner. The incumbent of this position will work alongside the CalFresh SCC team and is responsible for tracking job-ready customers and recruiting potential customers to fill business needs.

  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience providing services to low-income persons.
  • Ability to calculate figures for recording and tracking purposes; ability to apply basic recordkeeping principles.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • California Driver's License and proof of auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Business Services Team by entering job orders into CalJOBS and developing marketing flyers as needed
  • Assist with organization of Job Squad workshops, which may include inviting businesses, developing/presenting weekly topics, and collecting resumes
  • Collect, organize, and analyze information about customers in the "Talent Pool Bank" tracking tool (tests, interviews, abilities, employment interests, and character traits)
  • Match customers' job skills with business qualifications; refer qualified customers to Job Developers
  • Initiate and maintain ongoing personal contacts with job-ready customers and explain the benefits and employment supportive services provided based on eligibility
  • Assist customers in preparing job search portfolios; provide mock interviews and may assist with interview arrangements
  • Monitor participant job search progress and maintain open communication with Job Developers if a training possibility becomes available
  • Provide supportive services on a needs basis to eligible customers
  • Maintain case management files and document contact with customers, employers, and other partners in Apricot accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, memos, and emails
  • Serve as a customer liaison, responding to customer problems, questions, or concerns, and coordinate with the proper agency personnel to provide timely and accurate answers for customers
  • Follow up with customers as appropriate to document use/success in employee referrals
  • Remain updated on program requirements and regulations affecting participants and businesses
  • Refer customers to other CSET program resources as applicable
  • Participate in outreach events, job fairs, and meetings with partner agencies as assigned
  • Participate in training and professional development to build the required knowledge for the position
  • Perform other duties, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures
