About The Position

Our FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities is located 5 miles from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport and 13 miles from our Baltimore location. The campus is close to Washington, DC’s I-270 Technology Corridor, top universities, and government agencies. Catalent Pharma Solutions in Harmans, MD is hiring a Senior Program Manager. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are managed effectively and aligned with client expectations. This role oversees client contracts and leads the full project lifecycle—initiating, planning, executing, and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (required)
  • 5–7+ years of direct experience in contract development or manufacturing
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) preferred
  • Working knowledge of: Biologics fermentation, Cell culture, Purification, Analytics (preferred)
  • Experience in biologics (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver program objectives within scope, timeline, budget, and quality expectations
  • Ensure adherence to sound project management practices
  • Balance multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Manage cross-functional project teams
  • Develop and maintain overall project plans and schedules (including tech transfer)
  • Maintain collaborative, solution-focused communication with clients
  • Provide regular project updates and progress reports
  • Monitor milestones, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality completion
  • Troubleshoot issues and promote innovative, data-driven solutions
  • Coach and mentor other program managers
  • Strengthen program management capabilities across the organization
  • Apply project management expertise along with knowledge of biological sciences and finance
  • Drive programs forward and overcome obstacles independently
  • Lead without direct authority and influence stakeholders
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Adapt within evolving organizational and program structures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
