About The Position
The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking passionate and dependable Senior Program Leaders to join their Pre-K / Kindergarten program at the YMCA at Middleburg Elementary. This role is focused on creating a positive environment for early learners while supporting and guiding other staff. The YMCA serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with children ages 3–6 in a licensed or educational setting
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Nice To Haves
- CDA or early childhood coursework strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise engaging activities for Pre-K and Kindergarten students
- Design developmentally appropriate lesson plans and routines
- Provide mentorship and support to Group Leaders
- Communicate clearly with families and site leadership
- Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children
