About The Position

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Senior Program Director of Residential Services at our Hartford, CT office. Our residential services establish life-changing relationships with our participants and provide opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation, and recovery. The Senior Program Director of Residential Services provides operational, clinical and administrative leadership, direction, and oversight to a large multi-site, multi-service community-based mental health program serving individuals referred by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) within group living environments, case management, and supported housing settings. The Senior Director is responsible for hiring, supervision and training of staff, budget development and monitoring, contract compliance, clinical performance and outcomes, continuous quality improvement and developing and supporting relationships with regional and state funding sources and community stakeholders. The Director reports to the Vice President of Connecticut Services and directly supervises up to eleven management and clinical staff as well as indirectly supervises over 100 direct care staff while managing the budget for all residential programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in human service or related field
  • Five years supervisory experience in a behavioral health, housing, and/or clinical setting
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex budgets, personnel issues, and service delivery needs of persons served in similar programs and models
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for the mission and values of the agency
