About The Position

BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group. As part of our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients, you’ll leverage your Medicaid program and policy skills along with drive, initiative, and problem-solving abilities to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You’ll be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures. In your first project, you will leverage your Medicaid 1915 (c) waiver program and policy project management skills and subject matter knowledge to help a current client with the implementation of waivers for children with serious emotional disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will be either remotely based or out of one of our several office locations. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. Requirements

  • 5 years relevant professional experience in state or federal government, healthcare, and/or consulting
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly for, or consulting directly with, a State Medicaid agency
  • Experience working with the Medicaid program and policy, including some of the following areas: Developing and /or implementing Medicaid programs and enhancements, Interpreting and analyzing federal laws and regulations, documenting recommendations for achieving compliance, Researching and developing State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and 1915c waivers, Developing health and human services programs with home and community based services (HCBS) focused on children, youth, and families
  • Experience analyzing quality measures and applying performance change
  • Supporting skills such as stakeholder engagement, research, and meeting facilitation
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and using critical thinking skills to adapt to changing priorities in a deadline-focused environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge and experience to lead or support client initiatives where you provide subject matter knowledge and project management; this includes helping develop client deliverables such as program and policy recommendations, 1915c waiver amendments, complex analysis, ongoing status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations.
  • Build relationships with project team members including client contacts, stakeholders, federal partners, and vendor contacts. You’ll also communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop your own career plan and mentor BerryDunn team members through partnered practice, knowledge sharing, and collaborating on project deliverables.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, such as writing blog posts, attending conferences, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with go/no-go decision-making.
