The Alberta Public Service works to build a stronger province for current and future generations. We make a difference in the lives of Albertans through rewarding and diverse career opportunities. The Ministry of Energy and Minerals is responsible for sustaining the interests of Albertans through the stewardship and responsible development of energy and mineral resource systems. The Ministry Services Division provides enterprise-wide support services for Energy and Minerals and ensures alignment with and adherence to related Government of Alberta-wide policy and direction. The Professional and Program Services (PPS) Branch provides scientific and technical services to Alberta Energy and Minerals (and other Departments at times) to facilitate the development of policy and delivery of programs in a strategic and integrated manner across the Government of Alberta. It is the Energy and Minerals’ nucleus of professional engineers and geologists, mapping expertise and program specialists, which are grouped into four areas: (i) Resource Mapping and Analysis, (ii) Engineering, (iii) Geology, and (iv) Program Design, Implementation and Monitoring (PDIM). The Program Design, Implementation and Monitoring (PDIM) Unit within the Professional and Program Services Branch ensures Alberta’s energy and mineral resources are responsibly developed by designing programs, tracking performance, and ensuring initiatives align with provincial goals for economic growth, environmental protection, and regulatory efficiency. This work supports Alberta’s position as a major global energy producer while adapting to shifting markets and technologies. For new programs, PDIM leads their development, monitors and tracks their performance. For existing programs, PDIM tracks and reports their performance to report to Albertans.
