About The Position

MEMIC is seeking a dynamic Senior Production Underwriter to develop its business segment in New Jersey. This role involves being the primary contact for independent agents and brokers, cultivating partnerships, identifying opportunities, and driving profitable growth. It's a high-visibility position where expertise and initiative are crucial for shaping the market and ensuring MEMIC's competitiveness and growth.

Requirements

5+ years of technical P&C underwriting experience
Strong marketing instincts and the confidence to represent MEMIC in the market.
Entrepreneurial spirit with a hands-on, results‑driven approach.
Ability to travel extensively throughout the territory.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and decisive judgment.
A proactive mindset with the initiative to drive outcomes independently.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CPCU or insurance designation preferred.

Responsibilities

Build, expand, and nurture strong relationships with independent agents and brokers throughout the New Jersey territory.
Evaluate insurance submissions to ensure profitability and performance while delivering exceptional service.
Partner closely with underwriting analysts to uphold high standards of quality and responsiveness.
Recruit new agency partners and elevate the performance of existing relationships.
Collaborate with other Middle Market and Express Underwriters as well as Loss Sensitive partners to drive strategy and execution.
Conduct market research and bring fresh ideas that keep MEMIC competitive and growing.
