About The Position

Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm. Parametric, part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, partners with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios. This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, requiring 3 days a week in the office. The Application Support and Automation team supports all production applications, both on-prem and cloud-based, and is responsible for file transmissions and internal automations. The Production Support team acts as the front line for issues involving business-critical applications, including proprietary software, middleware, cloud sites, and network intersections. Qualified candidates will have a passion for IT, excellent communication and organization skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. A financial services background, high energy, a can-do attitude, and intense curiosity are required. This role involves issue triage, expediting repetitive tasks, exploring data stores for reports and KPIs, deploying software, educating end-users, investigating logs, and understanding internal business applications. Senior members will have the opportunity to craft new processes and revise existing workflows.

Requirements

6 years of relevant professional experience.
4 years experience with SQL including writing and understanding queries.
Experience supporting a 24/7 environment.
Experience with DevOps practices including Octopus, JIRA, Confluence or equivalent platforms.
Strong verbal and written communication skills targeted to a variety of audiences including technical and non-technical users.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, social environment, yet be able to work independently as necessary.
Experience supporting a Windows based environment including basic server administration.
Patience and attention to detail is essential.

Nice To Haves

Scripting/automation and continuous improvement experience is a plus.
Previous experience supporting line of business applications is a plus.
Experience with Linux/UNIX based platforms is a plus.
Experience with Powershell or other scripting languages is a plus.
Financial industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Triage and resolve tickets for supported systems and applications.
Provide troubleshooting expertise for all aspects of an application including vendor and custom built apps.
Develop and maintain knowledge base articles.
Follow established procedures for managing business risk when updating production systems.
Create and update process automation.
Participate in projects that enhance or upgrade Parametric systems or employee experience.
Working as part of a team provide complete 24/7 support to the production environment including being a member of an on-call rotation.
Enhance the monitoring and oversite of applications to ensure proactive alerting where possible.
