At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves? As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love. In this position... We’re looking for leaders who will lead transformation on the forefront. This isn't just a supervisory role; it's a critical leadership position where you'll have the power to shape culture, drive performance, and directly impact the quality and efficiency of our operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 7+ years of supervisory, manufacturing, military, or other relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale process improvements or cultural shifts.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts/hours, including nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodology
  • Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) Experience or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary coach and mentor for Production Supervisors, guiding them in their professional growth and leadership journey. You will provide real-time feedback and support to help supervisors navigate their daily challenges, refine their decision-making skills, and effectively lead their own hourly teams. Your focus is on building the next generation of leadership through guidance and modeling excellence, rather than through formal administrative reviews.
  • Act as a champion of workplace safety, proactively enforcing regulations and fostering a culture of vigilance. You will empower your Production Supervisors and hourly teams to identify hazards and ensure that safety protocols are consistently applied across all areas of the operation.
  • Lead and direct a multi-functional team that consistently produces high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take high-level ownership of shift performance, working through your supervisors and team leaders to address shortcomings proactively and celebrate collective successes.
  • Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources across the shift to maximize efficiency. You will apply a “Bias for Action,” coaching your supervisors to promptly and decisively address safety and quality issues. This includes identifying complex problems, developing systemic solutions, and teaching your supervisors how to adapt to changing circumstances on the fly.
  • Embrace a servant leadership style, focusing on building high-performing, winning teams. You will invest in the growth of both your hourly technicians and your Production Supervisors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment where every team member is motivated to achieve shared goals.
  • Utilize data and insights to reduce downtime and quality defects, driving quantifiable improvements in efficiency. You will guide your supervisors in transforming raw data—including time and attendance patterns—into actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies and driving innovation. You will be uncompromisingly committed to quality, coaching your supervisors to implement and maintain rigorous standards and relentlessly pursuing excellence to eliminate defects across the entire production line.
  • Proactively address and mediate conflicts fairly and effectively, facilitating mutually acceptable solutions. You will support your Production Supervisors in de-escalating tense situations and model active listening and empathy. You will build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with all partners, including suppliers and union representatives, fostering a psychologically safe environment for everyone.
  • Champion accountability by ensuring all team members—both supervisors and hourly staff—adhere to established processes and standards. You will ensure the "rules of the road" are followed consistently and fairly, meeting challenges with decisive action and clear guidance to maintain the integrity of the operation.
  • Actively listen to and value the perspectives of all team members and departmental stakeholders. You will serve as a bridge between the hourly workforce, the Production Supervisors, the union, and senior management to continuously improve every aspect of the operation.
