About The Position

The Senior Production Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role at Ford Motor Company, supported by on-the-job training, development, and opportunities for career progression. Senior Production Supervisors are expected to be resilient, detail-oriented, ambitious, and demonstrate high integrity. The role involves supervising, evaluating, and empowering a team responsible for manufacturing products, organizing workflow to meet daily productivity and quality requirements. Key aspects include ensuring safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through coaching standardized work and verifying production lines operate safely, smoothly, and produce quality parts. Supervisors are also tasked with driving performance to exceed personal, team, and company goals through servant leadership, building strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union representatives, and management teams. Additionally, the position supports peer supervisors by training, coaching, and developing newly hired or promoted supervisors, and optimizing throughput in accordance with budget and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of supervisory and / or manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to in being able to work rotating shifts and hours
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in difficult and stressful situations
  • Two-way communicator who actively listens to hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset
  • Create a safety culture and apply and implement workplace policies
  • Administer the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) consistently and effectively
  • Values different opinions & is open to ideas & perspectives from others

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Safety and quality experience
  • Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
  • Strong mechanical background

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, evaluate, and empower a team that produces manufactured products, and organize workflow to meet quality and daily productivity requirements
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through coaching standardized work, verifying lines are running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts
  • Drive to exceed personal/team/Company goals by holding self and team to high performance standards through servant leadership
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union, and management teams
  • Support peer team by training, coaching and developing newly hired and promoted Supervisors.
  • Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives.
